Indian Wedding Dress

The crazy shopping in India finally lead to the dress that I fell in love with. I had decided even before we began planning the wedding that I was not going to wear red. I wanted to do something different - pink maybe.

But then I found it, with its gold detailing, beadwork and elegant shades. I was in love.

See some of the images below that highlight some of the detail on the dress.

The Motion Picture

In case all the wonderful photos were not enough to convince you of the amazing elements that came together over three days to blend both my Greek Culture and my husbands Indian Culture, here is a highlights video has had put together to share with family and friends.

Although we still opted to have the two hour video of each wedding, we wanted out guests to get a quick snip it of the entire event, without being bored with all the extra bits in-between. This highlights video was put together magically by Studio Memoir - Dale and his team were amazing and capture the full emotion over just 17 minutes!

Be sure to contact Dale at Studio Memoir and discuss your videography needs with him and let him put together a video package to suit your needs!

Enjoy the video!

The Crowning Moment - "the Stefana"

One of the most romantic moments in a Greek Wedding Ceremony has to be when the priest "crowns" the bride and groom.

For my wedding I wanted something a little different, so with a lot of googling and come help from my sister, I managed to have our crowns made just the way I wanted.

Now, because this is a very symbolic ceremony, I wanted to capture the essence of the "crowning" by engraving the words recited be the priest;

"The servant of God, Shalin, is crowned unto the handmaiden of God, Gina , in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen".

I felt that by forever encapsulating these words on our crowns, which we are then required to safe keep from that moment on, would always remind us of the worthiness the Church has bestowed upon us for each other. From that moment on I would be his Queen and h
e my King - Love it :)

Renelle Rampersad - A Bollywood Romance

These are some of the beautiful photos Renelle got of Shalin and I at Summer Place for our Indian Wedding Ceremony.

This wedding started as you would most wedding do in the middle of summer, prayers, wishes and a bit of superstitious acts in the hopes that it doesn't rain, but because in life we don't get everything we want, despite having already set up the outdoor ceremony area, half an hour before the ceremony was about to begin, the heavens opened up and showered us with its love :)

Even though our wedding was completely rained out :( some how we still managed to have an amazing ceremony, gorgeous sunset photos and of course our reception was as colorful and intriguing as I planned!

Have a look and let me know what you think!
