Baby Shower High Tea
Too cute! My friend recently hosted a Baby Shower and decided on a High Tea theme, I can not think of anything more fantastic than being treated like a princess whist expect your little princess or prince :)
I love the Candy Table idea - bringing the playful element but still looking quite elegant. Macaroon are a fabulous decor and food element, the colours are vast lending to ay theme and decor you can think of. Adding welcome drinks in the color of your theme add to the air of sophistication that a High Tea or Afternoon Tea lends.
The easiest way to create the theme is to use tiered dishes, elegant platter and have tea cups as part of your setting. The ideas fun and it will be a sure fire way to make "mum to be" feel special!
Happy Planning :)

Black & White Wedding Inspiration
Yes, it is possible to pull off a black and white wedding theme without crossing over to the ""4 weddings and a funeral" side!
Its all about incorporating that old world charm to your theme. Use the black as the accent color rather than a dominant color. Less is more with black!

Cute Save the Date Ideas
How cute!! Why not get your photographer, or planner, to take a shot of the two of you doing something fun and whacky and use the image as your save the date card like in the photo below!
It will definitely lend to some good times through all the crazy planning! :)
Wesley Poon: What a Beautiful Wedding!
Remember Wesley, he captured those amazing moments at my Mehndi Evening, well look what I found! This wedding he shot this year looks absolutely jaw dropping. I loved the ribbons hanging in the ceremony area, the colors were elegant and made for some gorgeous photos.
I loved the elegant set up in the reception area with the customized table decor (fab idea!)

Decor - Work in Progress
From researching, cutting and pasting a concept board to sitting with decor suppliers, some crazy some not so crazy :) I loved taking the time to be apart of each and every element that went into making each setting perfect.
The first two images were the "in progress" shots I took in the build up to getting my perfect setting. Rearranging the flowers, swopping table clothes, adding candles, taking away candles - a lot of craziness.
In the build up I quickly learnt that the wedding industry is a dirty one - suppliers out there only see "$" signs when a bride walks through the door. If you don't take the time to assess exactly what you are paying for, you may find that you have probably just contributed the start up capital to your own decor company!
Its important to build relationships, check references, and get more than one quote. A great tip is to research the cost of owning the elements you are hiring. I did that and as a result bought many of the elements I would of hired and now have the opportunity to hire them out too!
The main thing is to enjoy the process and remember that it may be costly to have everything you want to make your wedding amazing but just be sure what you are getting is worth the money you will be spending!
Happy planning!

Get in to the Mood
So you are now ready to get into gear, the budget has been thought out and now the fun starts.
There are many elements that make an event amazing - flowers, decor, entertainment, dresses, favours, and so much more. The confusing bit is trying to figure out how to tie everything together to work cohesively. The event must have flow and all elements need to come together to to create an overall ambiance that leaves that lasting memory for your guests.
The bests place to start is a Mood Board. Once you have decided on colour get on to the internet and start researching images on all those fun elements that need to come together to make the perfect event. I suggest referring to a colour wheel as a starting point - what is the colour you want to carry through your event and what is the complimentary colour on the wheel that you can bring in to the elements to add that extra punch.
Have a look at the mood boards I created for my weddings. I selected Purple as the primary colour for my Greek Wedding and Cerise for my Indian Wedding. When I referred to the colour wheel, Green fell into the comfortable complimentary colour on the wheel for Purple and Yellow for the Cerise. I hit the ground running from there and created a mood board that would guide my decisions on all decor elements from there on.
Happy planning!
