Little Michael's Baptism

What a beautiful event this turned out to be! The weather played in our favour given the wonderful garden venue we had selected and Michael behaved like a champion, gracefully going into and out of the water with a smile on his face!

The event was filled with all the cultural elements that make Greek Baptisms extra special. The family enjoyed a delectably lunch and the kids played with the gorgeous Silky chickens in the lush gardens.

My dad summed up the event perfectly, "You don't get to experience a child christening everyday, this is a very special occasion!"

Here are some of the wonderful suppliers that came together to make the event special!

The Photos You Don't Get to See ;)

The best part about wedding photos have to be those candid shots that the photographer just has to take, whether you want him/her to or not!

Here are some wedding candid shots I thought I would share with you for some laughs this new year! The most famous being "The Bride Carrying Her Dress, Elegantly Of Course!"

Hope you enjoy!

The most elegant - the bride lugging her heavy dress around

Notice anything strange about this shot :)

Walking thought the street a gust of wind caught all of us off guard!

Another one of those elegant "show some leg while carrying my large dress around" shots

In the City of Love - Bruno Gila Photography

Having done a ton of research and being inspired by the New York wedding setting, Shalin and I chose to do our photos in Newtown, Johannesburg. These photos displayed the beauty and culture of South Africa's oldest city and gave Shalin and I a new found love for "downtown Johannesburg". We then followed up the downtown shoot with an uptown shoot in the streets of Sandton. Sandton provided the modern edge to the shoot which we loved!

Bruno was a fantastic photographer who worked to the plan we set out ensuring we got exactly what we wanted, my sister's affectionalty refer to him as the "perfect bridesmaid"

Here are just a couple of the awesome photos Bruno Gila took on our wedding day...
